S: and I’m Steph.

We have a bit of a festively tipsy episode of our Podcast for you today - Norfolk Christmas brews.

In Norfolk we are lucky to have so many wonderful independent brewers and distillers with some great seasonal offerings:

Humpty Dumpty has Christmas Crackling 4.5% a full bodied amber ale, brewed with Cascade and First Gold hop varieties to give an aromatic and hoppy winter ale, and Christmas Crack 7.0% a strong dark brown ale with an American hop profile.

Barsham Brewery have their first Christmas beer, S.O.S SPICY OLD SANTA 4.4%, a Ruby coloured beer, with notes of spicy berry and a hint of sweetness.

Moongazer Ale Norfolk Brewhouse has Snowshoes: a 4.4% red ale with complex malt and fruity flavors. Skiddadler: a 4.5% smooth and dark milk stout and Bouchart: a 4.9% dark mild.

Tindall Brewery has a Starry Night Stout 4.2%. This is a Creamy Oatmeal Stout with notes of chocolate, coffee and plums.

Lacons Brewery has a 5L Mini Cask (8.8 Pints) of Saint Nick’s Christmas Beer 4.2% it has notes of toffee, dried fruits, and a pinch of spice. Dehydrated orange peel aromas add warmth and comfort, leading to a soft, silky finish.
Apparently it pairs perfectly with mince pies!

Wildcraft Brewery has Wild Winter a 5.0% Porter - Malty, Spicy with Cinnamon & Ginger. Plus, Wild'N Nutty- 4.2% like roasting chestnuts on this open fire, combining Malt, Chestnuts & Hazelnuts to create a rich, caramalised, rustic taste.

Woodforde's have Winter Reserve Winter Warmer. This 5% dark, velvety beer has a full malty flavour with notes of liquorice and pine, retaining a dry, clean finish that goes down very easy considering its strength.

They also have Tinsel Toes, a festive ruby ale that is ideal for dark winter nights. It’s full of rich and spicy fruit flavours. Paired with a blend of roasted malts and hops, creating a perfectly balanced Christmas treat.

Home Farm Gin has some wonderful tree baubles full of either Cherry Schnapps, Honey Schnapps or their delicious Bramble cocktail.

The English Distillery have a super stylish Christmas bauble filled with The English Original. The English Original is their ‘at home anywhere’ whisky - a remarkably easygoing, unpeated single malt.

Not forgetting other types of brew, we have Strangers Coffee - Christmas Blend bringing you the festive flavours of cranberries, zesty tangerine, and strawberry. These notes are carefully balanced to deliver that cosy Christmas feeling with every sip.

Norfolk Coffee also has a Christmas Blend with tastes of toffee cream, orange & cinnamon.

Norfolk Pig Coffee Co’s Christmas Coffee Blend has a rich chocolate and mellow caramel taste with a delicate hint of fruit.

Norfolk Tea Co Mulled Wine Caffeine-Free infusion is as indulgent as it sounds. Although it contains no alcohol, it comes with the same delicious tastes so loved in real mulled wine. When brewed, it produces a richly spicy flavour with distinct hints of cinnamon, almonds and cloves. It is a truly warming infusion and makes the perfect seasonal brew.

Norfolk Rum Christmas Liqueur, their premium rum with an added assortment of fresh festive flavours: orange zest, split vanilla pod, cinnamon sticks and star anise; quite simply deconstructed Christmas Pudding in a bottle. A delicious rum liqueur by itself, chilled or warmed up; add to apple juice or cola for instant mulling; or serve warm with a layer of cream for a festive flat white.
